The test extracts and analyzes the DNA of the baby from the mother’s blood and screens it to determine whether the baby is a victim to any form of a genetic disorder or not. sing a simple 10mls maternal blood sample, the test analyzes all chromosomal aneuploidies of the fetus after 10 weeks of gestation only. GeNIPT requires a blood sample from the mother only, thus posing no miscarriage risk caused by other invasive traditional techniques like “amniocentesis”.
